We all know that patient outcomes improve when all members of the health care team can contribute. Demonstrating the value of pharmacists and integrating them with the rest of the healthcare team often begins with learning opportunities with students and learners in practice. This session will demonstrate how precepting other health care practitioners will improve not only your own practice but also the future practice of pharmacy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the practice and performance competencies that are required for team-based care.
  • Explain how to leverage interprofessional relationships to expand experiences of your students on rotation.
  • Describe benefits associated with interprofessional precepting.
  • Discuss how to initiate an interprofessional precepting experience with another health care professional.
