David A. Mott, BS, MS, Ph.D., FAPhA, is Associate Dean for Advancement and the William S. Apple Distinguished Professor of Social and Administrative Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy. He received his BS-Pharmacy (1988), MS (1992) and PhD (1995) degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been a professor at the UW School of Pharmacy for over 20 years. Dr. Mott is a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association.
Dr. Mott teaches pharmacy students about leadership roles in health care, rural pharmacy practice, measuring and improving the quality of pharmacy practice, principles of economic evaluation, and specialty pharmacy practice.
Dr. Mott has been studying the pharmacy workforce for over 25 years. In addition to leading the 2022 National Pharmacist Workforce Survey, Dr. Mott is working with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and providers to develop, implement, and evaluate models to exapnd the public health role of pharmacists, including models of community pharmacist-administration of medications for opioid use disorder to manage patients with opioid use disorder in Wisconsin.
