CDR Samantha Gustafson received her Pharmacy Degree from North Dakota State University in 2008. She began a career in retail pharmacy, and transitioned to a clinical position in 2014 with the Indian Health Service on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Red Lake, MN. She is currently a credentialed and privileged clinical pharmacist and provides clinical care including in behavioral health medication management. She is responsible for the naloxone co-prescribing initiative, and has coordinated the deployment of naloxone for the first responders and community members of the Red Lake Nation. She also serves as the Harm Reduction Lead for the Heroin Opioids and Pain Efforts (HOPE) Committee, and leads the local syringe service program for the Red Lake community. She is passionate about providing education on harm reduction strategies and available treatment resources.
