Ashley Lorenzen, PharmD

Dr. Ashley Lorenzen, PharmD is the Associate Chief of Pharmacy at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan and the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director. Dr. Lorenzen graduated from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Pharmacy in 2012 and completed her PGY-1 Residency at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Prior to her current role, Dr. Lorenzen was an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy with an active community practice at an Ascension Wisconsin ambulatory care clinic in Wausau, Wisconsin. Dr. Lorenzen currently oversees 18 clinical pharmacist practitioners and maintains an active practice in geriatrics and long-term care. She continues to be active with the American Pharmacist Association and has held many elected and voluntary positions, most notably as an executive committee member at large for APhA-APPM. She is also active in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin and has most recently been on the Ambulatory Care Advisory Board for two consecutive terms. Dr. Lorenzen has completed her lean training and currently holds a Green Belt with plans to complete Black Belt training. Dr. Lorenzen has a strong passion for the profession of pharmacy and advancing the role of the pharmacist. Dr. Lorenzen was selected as the only VA pharmacist in 2022 to attend the physical assessment course sponsored by the Public Health Service in Shiprock, NM. Dr. Lorenzen has completed various leadership training and seeks to assist all pharmacist to grow in whatever role they actively work in. Dr. Lorenzen is married to her husband, Eric, and they have two children together, Hadley (4) and Owen (2). Together, they enjoy hunting, fishing and camping!
