Meredy Ayers, CPhT-Adv has worked in independent community pharmacy for over 20 years. Working in independent pharmacy has allowed her to forge strong connections with patients, providers, and peers thus playing an essential role in patient well-being. She is the Development Specialist at Bremo Pharmacy in Richmond, VA and has extensive experience in a host of pharmacy areas such as billing reconciliation, marketing, technician education in addition to many other areas. Meredy is a long-time member of the Virginia Pharmacy Association and serves as the Technician Director on the Board of Directors as well as an active member of the Membership and Marketing Committee.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of her being a non-traditional pharmacy technician is interacting with patients, students and her peers in pharmacy. As an advocate for pharmacy technician growth and allowing pharmacists to practice at the top of their license, completed her Community Health Worker designation (CHW) as to assist with health disparities in the community and aiding pharmacists with providing for patients in need.
In addition to her role at Bremo Pharmacy, Meredy actively contributes to multiple projects through her consulting company. She addresses the advancement of pharmacy technicians as well as utilizing support staff to their fullest potential as well as advising pharmacy owners and pharmacy technicians on paths for advancement. Among these contributions is podcast appearances on National Pharmacy Technician Association’s podcast CPhT Connect, speaking engagements through National Community Pharmacy Association, appearances on “Show Me! A NCPA project”, article contributions to Pharmacy Times and CPhT Connect Magazine, and many other ventures.
