Angie Fagerlin, PhD is Professor and the Inaugural Chair of the Department of Population Health Sciences at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah and serves as the Associate Vice President for Faculty for University of Utah Health. She also is a research scientist at the Salt Lake City VA Informatics Center for Decision-Enhancement and Analytic Sciences. Her research focuses on strategies to improve patient medical decision making, particularly in terms of developing decision support interventions to promote shared decision making. Dr. Fagerlin’s research spans many clinical contexts including medical decisions for atrial fibrillation, decisions regarding kidney dialysis, and cancer prevention, screening and treatment, and many more.
