Helen Omuya, is a PhD student in the Health Service Research in Pharmacy program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has an extensive background working in domestic and international sectors. After earning a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from her home country, Nigeria, she practiced as a hospital pharmacist for several years. Before joining UW-Madison as a graduate student, she worked with the Emergency Operations Programs Unit (EMOPS) at the United Nations for Children (UNICEF) in New York City. Helen holds a Master of Public Administration degree from New York University (NYU) Wagner Graduate School of Public Service with a specialization in Health Policy and Management. She is interested in strategies that improve quality health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Her primary research interest is in Medication Management and her focus is on assessing the health outcomes of deprescribing interventions in multimorbid older adults with polypharmacy. She is also interested in strategies that reduce health disparities and promote health equity.
