Captain Ben Keller, PharmD, MPH, BCPS serves with the US Coast Guard. He reported to the Health Safety Work Life Service Center in Norfolk Virginia in June of 2020. In his role as the Operational Medicine Pharmacist, he oversees provision of pharmacy services and vaccine logistics for the entirety of the Coast Guard. He manages a team of 14 Pharmacists at 23 pharmacies serving 24,000 empaneled patients. As part of his position he writes field manuals for the application of pharmacy and vaccine policy to medical practice and medical readiness. Part of his responsibilities include career development for those who work for him. He feels lucky to have attended Biomedical Officer Management Orientation and known some of the Federal Pharmacy Titans like Jerry Ross and Mary Fong. He hopes to channel the wisdom garnered from those before him and help develop the next generation of Federal Pharmacy Titans.
