Carrie Foust Koenigsfeld, PharmD,FAPhA, is a Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University. Her clinical practice since 2005 is at Unity Point Internal Medicine at Lakeview in West Des Moines, IA. At this site, she works with students to provide services of anticoagulation management, diabetes education, and general drug therapy education and problem solving. Carrie received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa in 1998 and completed an ASHP-accredited Community Pharmacy Specialty Residency at the University of Iowa in 1999. She has written a number of peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters on a variety of topics relevant to community and ambulatory care pharmacy practice. She currently serves as a national speaker for the American Pharmacist Association Immunization and Diabetes Certificate training programs and has served APhA in a variety of capacities, including APhA-APPM Member at Large 2013-2015, Fellow in 2011, and current member of the Advisory Board for the Immunization Certificate training program. She was selected as Drake College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Preceptor of the Year in 2004 and 2009 and received the Granberg Leadership Award in 2013. Carrie is an active member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association where she has served in the House of Delegates, as a member of various IPA Committees, a past participant in the Leadership Pharmacy Conference, Board Trustee for Region 3 2008-2010, Speaker of the House in 2012, and was named the Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year in 2007.
