Food as Medicine Collaborative
Erin Franey, MPH, is the Director of the Food as Medicine Collaborative, where she supports a multi-sector coalition to bridge healthcare and food systems to advance nutrition security and health equity. Prior to her work at FAMC, she organized San Francisco residents to protect their homes from unjust foreclosures with the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, built capacity of county welfare departments and community-based organizations to support the health and culinary skills of their clients at Leah’s Pantry, and connected people to local food as a farmer at Rainshadow Organics. Erin holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in food systems from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors in Political and Social Thought from the University of Virginia. She is driven by boundless curiosity and a commitment to build more just, healthy, and resilient food systems.
