Adriane N. Irwin, PharmD, MS, BCACP, FCCP, FAPhA is an Associate Professor (Clinical) with the Oregon State University (OSU) College of Pharmacy, where she also serves as Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Irwin earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy, and then completed a PGY1 residency at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and a research fellowship in ambulatory care & pharmacy practice-based research at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. She practiced as an ambulatory care pharmacist in a rural health center for 7 years and then transitioned to Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics, where she now provides project management and data analytic support to department initiatives focused on quality and medication safety.
Outside of her clinical practice site, Dr. Irwin maintains an active research program focused on safe practices for opioid prescribing and improving care for those with substance use disorders. Her work is funded by multiple organizations, and she has contributed over 60 publications to the literature. She currently co-chairs the APhA/AACP Gender Equity Taskforce, a joint taskforce created by APhA and AACP in 2020 to examine and address gender equity in pharmacy.
