Dr. Sha-Phawn Williams, PharmD, BCACP is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Howard University College of Pharmacy. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in 2017. Upon graduation, Dr. Williams pursued a Post Graduate Year One (PGY-1) Community-Based Residency Program with The University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in which she identified ways to advance the practice of pharmacy in the community setting and helped patients transition care from the hospital to the community setting. Dr. Williams then pursued a Post Graduate Year Two (PGY2) Ambulatory Care Residency Program with The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. As a PGY2 resident, she worked within a Federally Qualified Health Center alongside other healthcare professionals to manage chronic diseases for the most vulnerable populations including underserved, uninsured, undocumented, and homeless patients.
After completing her PGY-2 Residency Program, Dr. Williams joined the faculty at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the fall of 2019. Dr. Williams also began serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Upstate Medical University in the Department of Medicine in the fall of 2019. She practiced within the Internal Medicine Ambulatory Care clinics at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. There, she cares for patients in the ambulatory care setting and provides didactic and clinical education for resident physicians, resident pharmacists, and student pharmacists. Dr. Williams recently started her new position as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Career Development Manager with the Howard University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Williams is a practitioner who firmly believes in preventative care and providing care to patients regardless of their socioeconomic status. As a faculty member, she prides on cultivating pharmacy students into leaders of the profession, advancing the practice of pharmacy, and providing optimal care to all.
