Assistant Professor of Teaching in Pharmacy Practice

Nira Kadakia, PharmD, BCACP (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor of Teaching in Pharmacy Practice at University of Findlay College of Pharmacy and an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at Mercy Health St. Charles in Oregon, OH. A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, she completed a community-based pharmacy residency at the City of Cincinnati Health Department and University of Cincinnati and was a recipient of the Daniel A. Herbert Incentive Grant from the APhA Foundation. Following her residency, she completed an academic and ambulatory care fellowship with Purdue University prior to starting at University of Findlay College of Pharmacy in August 2020. Dr. Kadakia has been involved with APhA for several years. She has served on the Communications and Education Standing Committees of the New Practitioner Network, the Preceptor Special Interest Group, and the Women in Pharmacy committee. In addition to APhA, Dr. Kadakia is or has been involved with other professional organizations, including the Ohio Pharmacists Association, Indiana Pharmacy Association, and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She also volunteers at a free clinic whenever possible. Her professional interests are ambulatory and community pharmacy practice, health literacy and disparities, social determinants of health, and prescription drug misuse prevention. When Dr. Kadakia isn’t doing pharmacy things, she enjoys traveling, reading, visiting new coffee shops, and spending time with friends and family.
