Michael leads APhA’s advocacy team and serves as the primary liaison to the U.S. Congress. Michael worked with multiple presidential Administrations to maximize the utilization of our nation’s pharmacists to provide COVID-19 immunizations, testing, and treating (therapeutics) during a national pandemic under Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act) declarations. Prior to working at APhA, Michael represented over 74 Fortune 100 companies, providing health coverage for 60 million workers, retirees, and their families in 200 countries. Previously, Michael served as Legislative Director to the Chair of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Oversight Subcommittee and Congressional Mental Health Caucus. Michael has also worked as a registered federal appropriations and issues lobbyist implementing practical solutions on over 30 policy issues for a variety of both nonprofit healthcare providers and clients.
