Richard Dang, PharmD, APh, BCACP, FCPhA is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Residency Program Director of the PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program at the University of Southern California (USC) Alfred E Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and is the Immediate Past President of the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) and Vice Chair of the Immunization Coalition of Los Angeles County (ICLAC). He is an advanced practice and board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist with expertise in immunizations, travel health, and community-based pharmacy practice and health programs. As California’s first licensed Advanced Practice Pharmacist, he is an advocate of pharmacist patient care services—through standard of care and collaborative practice—in the community-based settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Dang played a pivotal role in the response to the public health emergency; where he led the Los Angeles City COVID-19 vaccination program and served on local and state vaccine and testing taskforces. He has also been featured in numerous media outlets (including the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, KNX News, ABC, CBS, and NBC) for his work and as a COVID-19/vaccination expert. Dr. Dang is a national trainer with the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate program and also the APhA Liaison for the CDC ACIP COVID-19 Work Group and an APhA subject matter expert in the review of the 2024 CDC/ACIP Adult Immunization Schedule.
