Jim Ruble, PharmD, JD, is executive associate dean for professional education and an associate professor (lecturer) at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy. He teaches pharmacy law, and ethics to pharmacy students. Jim teaches courses in FDA Law & Policy and Controlled Substances Law & Policy in the College of Law, and medical ethics in the School of Medicine. Jim is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. He has pharmacy practice experience in: acute care, ambulatory care, community practice, sterile and non-sterile compounding, drug information, poison control, home infusion, and administration. Jim has legal experience in health care law and intellectual property. Jim is a member of the Utah Bar and the US Patent and Trademark Office Bar. He is trained in conflict resolution, and is a mediator. Jim earned BS Biology, BS Pharmacy, PharmD, and JD from the University of Utah. Jim is an alumnus of the AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program (Cohort 16). Jim is a past-president of the American Society for Pharmacy Law.
