My name is Dr. Jasiha L. Welch, PharmD, PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Harps Food Stores. I attended Arkansas State University, initially as a pre-pharmacy major, but left before completing my degree. A few years later, while living in Charlotte, North Carolina, I decided to go back to school and give pharmacy a second chance. I worked as a pharmacy technician at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte while completing an AAS in Pharmacy Technology from Central Piedmont Community College. After graduation from CPCC, I finished the prerequisites for pharmacy school and returned home to Arkansas to complete my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree at UAMS. I am professionally interested in HIV care due to my personal experience and plan to pursue credentialing as an HIV pharmacist, post-residency. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my boyfriend and my dog, as well as my family and friends, reading, traveling, searching for good coffee and beer, and finding new places to eat.
