Abigail Gamble is a Program Manager for various research projects in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her MA in Biological Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma. She previously researched public health issues and developments in North Carolina, especially in rural communities, with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and coordinated clinical trials in UNC’s School of Medicine. Current projects on which she works include a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the usefulness of naloxone education materials that were developed by pharmacists for pharmacists, addressing COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in rural pharmacies through implementation science, and surveys of pharmacists in the Rural Research Alliance of Community Pharmacies (RURAL-CP) network to better understand their needs. RURAL-CP is the first multi-state practice-based research network developed exclusively for rural community pharmacies and currently includes over 120 rural community pharmacies across 7 states. Her research interests include health disparities, social and behavioral aspects of health, and rural health.
