Enrique A Nieves, Ph. D
Dr. E. Nieves is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Pharmacy of Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He teaches biopharmaceutics and other related courses in the PharmD, MS, and PhD Programs. His research interest is in the development and application of new technologies in product development. He has been involved in nanotechnology applications of pharmaceuticals at the industrial scale and more recently in pharmaceutical compounding. He recently embraced Resonance Acoustic Mixing technology to study solids and semi-solids compounding.
Prior to joining NSU in 2008 he worked for 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in various capacities from bench work to executive positions in Global Technical Operations in large pharmaceutical companies (Eli Lilly, Wyeth, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals). He also worked in a CDMO (MOVA Pharmaceuticals), and a virtual company (PGx Health) in drug development. He maintains ties with the industry as pharmaceutical consultant.
Dr. Nieves obtained MS and PhD degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Florida, and a BS degree in pharmacy from the University of Puerto Rico. He is a licensed pharmacist and licensed chemist.
