David A. Mott, Ph.D., is Associate Dean for Advancement and the William S. Apple Distinguished Professor of Social and Administrative Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy. He received his BS-Pharmacy (1988), MS (1992) and PhD (1995) from the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. He has been a faculty member at the UW School of Pharmacy since 1998. Dr. Mott is a Fellow of the American Pharmacists Association.
Dr. Mott teaches pharmacy students about leadership roles in health care, rural pharmacy practice, measuring and improving the quality of pharmacy practice, principles of economic evaluation, and specialty pharmacy practice.
Dr. Mott has been studying the pharmacy workforce for over 30 years. In addition to leading the recently completed 2022 National Pharmacist Workforce Survey, Dr. Mott is working with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and providers to develop, implement, and evaluate models designed to expand community pharmacists roles in administering and managing medications to treat opioid use disorder for patients in Wisconsin.
