Gianna McMahon is a P3 student at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Pharmacy (NSU COP). While studying at USF for her undergraduate courses, Gianna worked at Walgreens as a pharmacy technician where she gained a love for community pharmacy and learned more about what the pharmacy profession entailed by working and learning from her pharmacists. As a P1, Gianna began working at Publix as a pharmacy intern in Jupiter, FL where she is still currently employed. From her job experience and experiential education, she is interested in nuclear pharmacy, community pharmacy, and emergency room pharmacy. Gianna is enjoying her studies at NSU's Barry and Judy Silverman COP and looks forward to completing more rotations, so she can continue to learn about the different fields in the pharmacy profession. In her first year at NSU COP, Gianna joined the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) and was elected as the Palm Beach Representative, the pharmaceutical fraternity, Alpha Zeta Omega (AZO), where she was elected as Pledge Master, and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA-ASP), where she is currently President. She was the Campus Involvement Chair for the Regional Student Government Association (SGA), is a Dean’s Ambassador, and is a part of the Curriculum Overview Committee. She also has her Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and her immunization delivery certification. Outside of school and work, Gianna enjoys trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. In 2019, she traveled to Italy, Spain, and France with her grandparents and father where they ate authentic food and learned about the cultures of those countries, and in 2022 and 2023, she visited Iceland and Japan, respectively, with her significant other.
