My name is Sammie Zou, a P3 student studying at Wilkes University School of Pharmacy in PA. I am a currently a member of APhA and I serve on the fundraising committee. My passion is to help the underserved populations by participating in community activities that help this population. I have participated in blood pressure screenings and educated patients on various health-related topics such as HIV and stroke awareness. I am also currently employed as a pharmacy intern at Moses Taylor Hospital. My career interest lies in ambulatory care, and I hope to go into post-graduate residency with a focus in ambulatory care. I have always been interested in helping patients manage their chronic disease states such as hypertension and diabetes. Moreover, I love the idea of improving patient outcomes while interacting with patients on a
daily basis. I am also pursuing a public health concentration as I hope to gain skills and experience that will allow me to better serve the underserved in our community to achieve quality healthcare. I am excited for the opportunity to present my topic at the conference, and I feel it is a great opportunity to not only enhance my professional development, but also make connections with others. I believe this event will provide me with valuable experiences and knowledge as I learn about the various healthcare topics presented throughout the conference.
