My name is Gilmary Betancourt Marrero, PharmD, HIVPCP, and I am a PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident at the Walgreens and Nova Southeastern University program in Puerto Rico. Born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico, I did my bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras. It was during my undergraduate studies where I valued how a pharmacist can contribute to health rights by ensuring every patient receives the appropriate pharmaceutical care. After my undergraduate studies, I went on to pursue a PharmD at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, from which my experiences as a student pharmacist motivated me to pursue a residency after graduating in 2023. Currently, my fields of interest in pharmacy include Ambulatory Care, Community Pharmacy, and Geriatrics.
