Dr. Lauren Flood PharmD, RPh is originally from Cherry Hill, NJ and now the current PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident with Walgreens/MCPHS University-Boston. Throughout her pharmacy school career at MCPHS University - Boston, Lauren engaged in multiple clinical and leadership activities that piqued her interest in direct patient care. So far in her PGY1 residency, Lauren has had the opportunity to make an impact on patients in multiple clinical settings including community-retail at Walgreens, Specialty with Community Walgreens Pharmacy, and ambulatory care through the primary care clinic at the VA Boston, MA. This year, Lauren has also taken on the role of preceptor, guiding and mentoring students in both the community and ambulatory care settings. After completion of her residency, Lauren is looking to begin her pharmacy career in a clinical ambulatory care role focusing in areas such as primary care, endocrinology, weight management, and cardiology. At APhA 2024, Lauren will showcase the preliminary findings from her longitudinal research project titled "Effectiveness of Diabetes Management Education Delivered by a Community-Pharmacy Resident" which is a recipient of this year's APhA Foundation Grant. Lauren extends her heartfelt gratitude to her residency program directors and preceptors for their unwavering guidance and support throughout her journey thus far.
