Marie Smith, PharmD FNAP, is the Henry A. Palmer Endowed Professorship of Community Pharmacy Practice and, Assistant Dean for Practice and Public Policy Partnerships at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. In 2013, she served as Senior Adviser to the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI) in Baltimore, MD, to develop a national strategy and implementation plan to integrate pharmacist-provided medication management services in the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative at CMMI.
My research focuses on four aspects of primary care medication use and safety: (1) integration of pharmacists in the primary care workforce, (2) expanded, team-based clinical pharmacist roles, (3) health policy on care delivery and payment innovations, and (4) core measures for medication optimization and management.
