Workplace mental health and well-being is a critical priority for public health. It has numerous and cascading impacts for the health of individual workers and their families, organizational productivity, and the U.S. economy. While the COVID-19 pandemic increased rates of anxiety, depression, social isolation, job burnout and insecurity, it has changed the nature of work and the relationship many workers have with their jobs. The link between our work and our health has become even more evident. While many challenges outside the workplace may impact well-being, there are still many ways that organizations can function as engines for mental health and well-being, and explore ways to better enable all workers to thrive within the workplace and beyond.
