This program, including patient counseling video vignettes, will provide pharmacists with an introduction to lipoprotein(a), screening recommendations, and its relationship with low-density lipoprotein cholesterol as an independent risk-enhancing factor for the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. This activity includes patient counseling vignettes.

Learning Objectives:
Identify the limitations and gaps in current treatment approaches for patients with elevated lipoprotein(a) or Lp(a) in preventing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
Analyze the most recent clinical trial data regarding investigational therapies targeting Lp(a) and their potential impact on ASCVD prevention
Investigate effective patient education strategies to empower individuals with high Lp(a) levels to manage their ASCVD risk and adhere to recommended therapies
