Pharmacist-administered long acting injectables (LAI) are gaining traction as a non-DIR revenue stream for pharmacists. Attend this session to hear from a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist and member of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists. Pharmacology, implementation, legal considerations and oodles of great resources will be shared to help you get started.  

Learning Objectives:

  • Compare and contrast FDA approved long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics in terms of mechanism of action, dosing and administration.  
  • Describe challenges and opportunities related to implementing LAI services in the pharmacy.  
  • Discuss legal considerations surrounding pharmacist administration of LAIs.  
  • List resources available for pharmacists related to LAIs.
