Health disparities result in unequal access to healthcare services and resources.  Pharmacists play a vital role in ensuring that all people, regardless of their background, have equal access to quality diabetes management.  Attend this session to learn what methods to apply when addressing those disproportionately affected by diabetes.

  • Describe the relationship between social determinants of health and risk for development of diabetes. 
  • Evaluate ways that pharmacist and healthcare provider bias contribute to health disparities in diabetes management
