The OTC approval of life-saving naloxone is a step towards reducing barriers to access, or is it?  Attend this session to gain perspective from an expert in the Community Pharmacy who will cover the basics of naloxone use, and how its OTC approval has impacted their practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe how to use naloxone in an emergency. 
  • Examine barriers and benefits to over-the-counter naloxone in pharmacy practice.  
  • Identify strategies to improve distribution and increase access to naloxone. 
  • Discuss use of naloxone with patients in a stigma free manner.
