This interactive session will allow attendees to hear from individuals currently engaged in practice-based research (PBR) across a variety of settings. Panelists will share their experiences and best practice recommendation for those interested in practice-based research, as well as work together to share ideas and experiences with other attendees and develop strategies to develop relationships to implement PBR activities in their local settings. This session is intended for individuals with any level of experience in PBR, including no prior experience. In addition to learning about key considerations in developing, implementing, and getting involved in practice-based research, session attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other practitioners and researchers currently conducting or interested in practice-based research. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Define practice-based research. 
  • Identify research methods that facilitate practice-based research.  
  • Describe the benefits of developing partnerships between practicing pharmacists and pharmacy researchers when conducting practice-based research.
  • List strategies to construct partnerships between practicing pharmacists and pharmacy researchers to improve practice-based research ideas and outcomes.
