Are you passionate about serving medically underserved and un-/underinsured populations, but unsure of how pharmacies make this happen? Have you heard of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), 340B program, charitable pharmacies, etc., but don’t really understand how they impact patients and the pharmacy differently? Then this session is for you! Attend this session to learn of the various entities designed to provide affordable and accessible care and what you can do to promote more equitable care for all.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify various ways pharmacies facilitate medication access for medically underserved patients. 
  • Compare the regulatory requirements and oversight for federally qualified health centers, 340B program, and charitable pharmacies.
  • Describe services offered by these entities that enhance access to care beyond affordability.
  • Discuss common challenges and controversies associated with each entity.
